FAQs

How Do I Check The Status Of My RCMP Fingerprints?

Checking the status of your criminal record check is complex; you will receive an email with instructions on how to access your results once the criminal record check is completed.

Though it is possible to check the status of your criminal record check by emailing the RCMP directly at its Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) email address, we would advise against doing this; the process can take up to 120 business days if the RCMP finds a criminal record.

What Do You Need For RCMP Fingerprints?

To obtain a certified criminal record check through the RCMP, you must provide fingerprints. To do this, you have to visit an accredited company like FASTCHECK. You must provide two pieces of government-issued identification; one has to be a photo ID. From there, you’ll be required to sign consent forms and then have your fingerprints taken to be submitted electronically by FASTCHECK!

How Do I Authenticate (or Apostilled) My Criminal Record In Canada?

There are circumstances where entities in other nations will require your certified criminal record check to be further authenticated or Apostilled. To authenticate these documents, you’ll need to send them to Global Affairs Canada. The service is free. You can find detailed instructions on Global Affairs Canada’s Authentication of Documents page.
